INTERNATIONAL EVENTSTEST SERIES AGAINST NEW ZEALAND – CHRISTCHURCH We have been invited to send our World Bowls Team to New Zealand to play against them in a four test series. This will not only give the team international practice but will also afford them the opportunity to experience the conditions they will encounter during World Bowls in January 2008. The tests will be played on 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th October 2007. The Women and Men’s teams are as previously announced and are: Sylvia Burns, Cheryl Cox, Lorna Trigwell, Loraine Victor, and Colleen Webb. Manager is Ellen Cawker. Gerry Baker, Brian Dixon, Wayne Perry, Billy Radloff, and Clinton Roets. Manager is Theuns Fraser. AFRICAN STATES TOURNAMENT – WINDHOEK This tournament takes place from 22nd to 30th September 2007. Unfortunately Gerry Baker and Theuns Fraser have had to withdraw from the team stated above. Their places will be taken by Handrè Marais and Kallie Haupt will act as Manager. TEST SERIES AGAINST NAMIBIA – CAPE TOWN The full World Bowls teams will take part in a two test series to be played in Cape Town on 10th and 11th November 2007. This is an annual event alternating on a home and away basis. HONG KONG CLASSIC This event will take place from the 8th to 16th December 2007. Neil Burkett and Wayne Perry (last year’s winners) have been invited by the organisers to take part in this year’s event. The Executive are in agreement with their invitation and they in turn have accepted. This invitation tournament sees all the major bowling countries taking part and is a prestigious event. |
